Some facts about late actor Irrfan Khan which you probably don't know
Irrfan Khan passed away on the 29th of April 2020. He died at the age of 53. His last words were, "Amma has come to take me". He left behind a legacy in the world of cinema. He was a global star in true sense because he was equally popular all over the globe. He did some tremendous work in Bollywood as well as Hollywood film industry. He had the magic to trap audience's attention even if he is in the backdrop of any scene. He said that acting was his passion and he does not think about the results while following his passion. He was a simple and humourous man. He once said that the highest desirable quality in a human for him was humour because he has plenty of it. - The original name of Irrfan Khan was Sahibzade Irfan Ali Khan. He dropped his surname and used just his name Irrfan because he said that he does not want to carry any baggage. He wanted to be known and remembered because of his work and by nothing else.
- Irrfan was a very private and shy person in real life, he neither attended social gatherings or parties, nor did he invite many people at his home. He used to love the company of his wife and two kids. He loved to be away from the chaos of city life, so much so that he initially bought his house in Madh island which is a boat ride away from the main city of Mumbai.
- He loved self sustainable ecosystem, so he had a pond in the centre of hos living room. The pond was made up of blue stones brought from Nepal. It had fishes and lilies and it does not need any artificial oxygen or cleaning for its survival. He also loved the sound of water. He said that the sound of water helped him channel his inner creativity in a better way.
- He belonged to a very humble background and used to live in Jaipur in his initial days. His father had a tyre business in Jaipur. The family was so short of cash that he had to let go of the opportunity of playing in the Col CK Nayudu tournament just because he was not having 200 rupees to buy tickets to go to a neighbouring city where the tournament was organised.
- He had a fetish for mirror. He had once accepted that he checks himself out in every mirror he comes across even if he is in extreme hurry. His house is a proof of his fetish where you can find mirrors of every imaginable shape and size at every nook and corner of the house.
- Initially when he was struggling in Mumbai he worked as an AC repairing technician. He used to do this job in the day time and theater in the evening. He even visited Rajesh Khanna, his idol of that time, once while doing his repairing job. He said that Rajesh Khanna was the definition of superstardom in India. Nobody till date can match the fan following and craze Rajesh Khanna had in his time.
